Solid epoxy resin insulators that replace porcelain in medium-voltage switchgear — busbar supports in switchgear, ring-main units, cable boxes and busbar systems. Cast as a single homogeneous body with embedded threaded inserts: high mechanical strength and a hydrophobic, non-porous surface that does not absorb moisture. Two ratings, each with or without capacitive unit, all type-tested at the Ministry of Electricity's Extra High Voltage Research Laboratory.

Range

12 kV and 24 kV, with or without capacitive unit.

Cylindrical solid insulators with a ribbed profile that sets the creepage distance. Main dimensions to IEC 60273; creepage dimensioned per IEC 60815 for indoor pollution class. Embedded brass inserts with internal thread, flush with the surface; the auxiliary inserts are not electrically connected to the main insert internally. Service temperature −25 °C to +115 °C; tropical versions with special fixing parts and non-standard insert threads on request. Signal-red colour for visual identification in the panel.

12 kV post insulator

Indoor post insulator for 12 kV switchgear. Supplied plain, or with one embedded capacitive divider brought out to a side socket for a voltage-presence indicator — no separate VT needed.

Main dimensions in accordance with IEC 60273; creepage distance per IEC 60815. Every insulator passes the IEC 60660 routine tests — visual inspection, testing of the conductive connection between inserts, power-frequency withstand voltage (dry) and partial-discharge measurement — and samples are tested for minimum failing load in bending. Lightning-impulse withstand and extended bending tests are available on request. Order by ordering code, stating quantity, delivery date and, for capacitive versions, the voltage-indicator type to be connected.
